Okay, so I’ve been feeling really rough all week, and despite trying everything I could think of to get myself back into the swing of work, I haven’t managed it… Which is why I am writing this post today, rather than the review I was planning. I thought it would be a nice to do this as the blog is so new and it’s a nice way to get to know me a little more! Happy reading and I hope you’re having a great week so far!
Can you stop reading at any time, or does it have to be a certain page or chapter?
I feel a little obsessive when it comes to where I stop reading actually… I have to stop at the end of a chapter, preferably an even numbered chapter. No matter how tired I am, I have to end it there.
Do you eat or drink while reading?
Of course! I tend not to eat while reading for fear of getting food embedded in the pages, although sometime I do have a sweet treat! I do however drink copious amounts of tea. When I read at bedtime though, I usually opt for an Ovaltine. Mmmmmm.
Can you listen to music or watch TV while reading?
I can, though I prefer not to. I have gotten used to reading in most places so while I would rather have peace and quiet to read, I can block out pretty much anything now.
One book at a time or several at once?
I used to be a one book at a time kinda girl, but since starting my law degree and I have reading to do for that, I can now often been found juggling between 3 and 4 books at a time.
Reading at home or everywhere?
My favourite reading spot is actually my bed, I’ve created a small sanctuary for myself in my bedroom which is filled with candles and mood lighting, make it the perfect (in my humble opinion) the best place to read. I do read everywhere though, long journeys, during my lunch break at work etc etc.
Reading out loud or silently in your head?
99% of the time I read silently. There are a few books however that call for reading out loud, like Let Them Eat Chaos by Kate Tempest for example, which is a poetry book mean to be read out loud and with gusto.
Do you read ahead or skip pages?
When I am reading for my degree then I often skip pages and read ahead, when reading for pleasure however I NEVER skip ahead, you might miss the best bits!
Breaking the spine or keeping it new?
I get a little protective over my books… I do not fold the pages or write in the margins. When I take books with me on the go I keep them in a book sleeve, and to answer this question, I NEVER break the spine if I can avoid it.
Do you write books or just read them?
I would love to write a book some day, but fear that I severely lack the imagination to do so, so for now I am just an avid reader.
And there we have it! I would love for you all to do this tag too, and if you do, comment me the link to your post down below so that I can have a read.
Peace and pages
