1. When and why did you decide to become a book blogger/reviewer?
I became a book blogger in July of 2016 and I decided to start blogging because I had been following some bloggers on Tumblr and watched some booktubers and I really liked the idea of having a place to talk about books. I don’t really have any offline friends that like reading the way I do so I loved having this place where I could just throw out all of my opinions and ideas.
2. What’s your favourite/ least favourite thing about book blogging?
My favourite thing is when I write a review of a book I love and someone comments that they’re going to read the book because of me, or that they read a book because I recommended it to them. Especially if they loved it. That is by far the best feeling of book blogging. My least favourite thing is having to write really negative reviews of books I hated. Especially if it is a book I read on request of the author, because I know they will read my review and I hate that I’m saying bad things about their book, that they worked on so hard and I’ll tell them that I didn’t like it. I hate letting them down that way.
3. What inspired your blog name?
Originally, my blog name was Imaginary Places on Paper, but that was such a mouth-full that I decided to change it. I wanted something short and fun and I don’t really know how I ended up picking Lost In A Story, but it really fits. I really liked it because it does not just refer to books, but also writing and TV series, because I can get lost in those too! Fun fact, someone once asked me whether I picked the blog name because my name is Lia and if you shorten my blog name it’s LIAS, and I was so surprised because I had never made that connection and now I just love it even more.
4. Who are your favourite authors?
V.E. Schwab, Leigh Bardugo, Maggie Stiefvater & Laini Taylor are all amazing female writers and I’ve read almost all of their books (or am working on doing that) and loved them all.
5. How big is your TBR?
My physical TBR is about 15 books right now and my goodreads TBR is about 30 books, and those are all the books I want to read in the near future and I am really excited about. I also have a “someday maybe”-list with about 50 books I’ve got my eye out for that I might read in the future.
6. What are you currently reading?
While writing this, I am reading The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James and 27 Hours by Tristina Wright. And I also am kind of reading Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, but I haven’t read more than a chapter over the past few weeks so I don’t think that really counts.
7. What do you do when you aren’t reading or blogging?
I am a full-time university student, I am in my final year of my Bachelor’s degree. In my free time, I love binging TV series, I also love photography and drawing but I do that way too little. I spend way too much time on twitter and youtube and beside that I sleep.
8. A silly fact about you that people don’t already know.
I think nobody knows this, but I have never read fanfiction except for fanfiction that is integrated in books (The Loneliest Girl in the Universe; Fangirl; etc). I did attempt to write some once, but let’s not get into that haha
