Today I am bringing you one of the most exciting posts I have done on this blog to date. It is something that I have been extremely excited for since the news broke about it way back in October. As someone that lives in the UK, the number of well thought out bookish subscription boxes are limited (even more limited if you take into consideration the cost!). Well let me introduce you to something that has blown the minds of many of the past few months. Say hello to the newest and best subscription box to hit the UK, the Wildest Dreams Box. I am lucky enough to know Zoe, the wonderful boss lady behind this creation and I am so proud of her and what she has managed to create!
This is the first box, for December 2017 and it’s theme is Best of YA 2017, and I am so lucky to have my hands on one because it sold out in just a few hours! I was so excited to receive this box that I had opened it, photographed it and used it within 45 minutes of picking it up from the post office. And boy, was I not disappointed!
The box is wonderfully curated and has something in there for everyone. This months box is The Nowhere Girls by Amy Reed. I have wanted to get my hands on this book for ages, and squealed a little bit when I saw what was inside! In case you haven’t heard of the book, here is what it’s about: Three misfits come together to avenge the rape of a fellow classmate and in the process trigger a change in the misogynist culture at their high school transforming the lives of everyone around them in this searing and timely story. Who are the Nowhere Girls?
Next up in the box we have the most thoughtful thing I think I have ever seen in a subscription box; a tea, but not just any old tea, its a chocolate orange flavoured tea based on the fantastic After the Fire by Will Hill. Believe me, I know thats amazing but just you wait. Zoe has actually added empty tea bags to the box! That’s right! You can still enjoy this tea even if you don’t own a tea leaves strainer! I couldn’t get over this when I saw it. I think it’s just so thoughtful.
Also in this box is a book plate and signed bookmark from the Book of Fire by Michelle Kenney which promises to be a fantastic dystopian fantasy. I’ve already add this one to my wish list.
Also in the box was a breakdown on what we had received in the box and a lovely little letter from Amy Reed about The Nowhere Girls and some chocolate orange flavoured chocolate. It’s like Zoe knows the way to my heart!
Lastly in the box we received a bath bomb. But not just any old bath bomb. This is a Sorting Bathbomb from Geeky Clean! If you’ve ever read any of my posts before you will know just how obsessed I am with Harry Potter so this made me cry with delight! Of course as a Hufflepuff I would have loved to have received that one, but on reflection, I’m not sure how the yellow colour would have looked in the bath…. hahah! I however got the Ravenclaw one, which I am not mad about. The smell was gorgeous and it left my skin feeling soft without leaving a yucky residue at the bottom of the bath.
I have to say that I absolutely love this box. I am amazed that it is a one woman business and I love nothing more than supporting friends. The Wildest Dreams Box costs £18 a month with free UK shipping (I know that Zoe is looking to expand to other countries in the new year too) and you can purchase a rolling subscription or 3, 6 or 12 month pre-pay. If you haven’t already got your hands on a box, I highly suggest you do. January’s theme is Into the Jungle and I already cannot wait! If you want to get your hands on a subscription you can get them here!
