Good morning my lovelies! Today’s post is something that I have been meaning to do for some time now. I was nominated a few times back in November and never actually got around to doing it. I have finally got my bottom into gear and that is what I am posting about today! I was nominated by the lovely Jenn at jenniely.com at amongst a few others that I cannot remember for the life of me..
So what is the Sunshine Blogger Award?
Well, The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to bloggers who are creative, positive, and inspiring. Once nominated, the blogger is required to write a post in which they: thank the blogger who nominated them and link back to their blog, answer the 11 questions asked by the blogger who nominated them, nominate 11 other blogs and give them 11 new questions to answer and notify your nominees and display the Sunshine Blogger Award in your post. Now what I won’t be doing in this post because I have no idea who might want to do this tag and so rather than tagging 11 people and asking 11 questions, I shall be tagging you all and asking the same questions that Jenn has asked me today!
What inspired you to start blogging?
I’ve been an avid reader for as long as I can remember. Then about 4 years ago I realised there was an entire online community where people talked about books. This was a haven for me seeing as most of my real-life friends are into reading like I am. Back in August last year I decided that I would love to share my thoughts on books too, now I am not confident to start a booktube channel and so I thought starting Tomes with Tea was the best option for me, and I haven’t looked back.
What book could you read again and again?
Oh, thats a pretty easy one for me, and one that is probably incredibly obvious. The Harry Potter series. While there are a few that I love more than the others, the series for me is like a comfort blanket and something that I reach for time and time again.
What’s your favourite reading food?
Honestly, I don’t eat when I read, purely for feer or getting food on the pages. I do however consume an incomparable amount of tea.
How much time do you dedicate to blogging a week?
I try to dedicate an entire day on the weekend to writing, that typically allows me to write the posts for the coming week. This doesn’t always happen however due to the fact that I have university and work, sometimes I only manage to fit in a couple of hours. It really does vary.
Which bookish location would you visit and why?
Wonderland, it has to be Wonderland. This is another one of my favourite books of all time and I re-read it pretty much every year. I love Wonderland as a setting and I would love to pay it a little visit!
If you could meet any author, alive or dead, who would it be?
Victoria Schwab most definitely. I mean, I’ve read every books she’s ever publish except for one and I have loved them all. I would love to meet her and find out how she manages to write so many incredible books!
How do you decide what book to add to your TBR?
Generally I just read the blurb. There’s not much more to it than that!
What advice would you give to any blogger?
Just be you. Readers can tell if you aren’t being authentic. Also, enjoy it. Blogging should be so much fun and I have always said that I will stop when it stops being enjoyable.
How did you come up with your blog name/theme?
Again, this was a pretty simple one. I wanted it to be centred around the things that I love, which is books and tea, and so as tomes is a term for a large book, things just fell into place. Tomes with Tea was born.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully as a qualified lawyer with a library in my house! I try not to much too much stock in these kinds of questions because I think they can be restrictive and they can sometimes lead you to miss opportunities because they don’t fir into your ‘5 year plan’.
Marvel or DC?
Honestly? I’m not really a fan of either. However, I will say that I buddy-read Wonder Woman Warbringer last year and absolutely loved it. I am also looking forward to reading Batman now! So you could say DC is my favourite.
It’s your turn now!
