Blog Tour: Now We Rise

Hello my loves!

I honest couldn’t be more excited than I am about todays post. I have been eyeing this book up since it first made its rounds on Twitter. I did everything I possibly could and was lucky enough to be contacted to take part in the amazing Now We Rise Blog Tour for the upcoming YA fantasy novel, Children of Blood and Bone, the first in the Legacy of Orïsha series. I honestly had to read the email twice!

The synopsis

Zélie Adebola remembers when the soil of Orïsha hummed with magic. Burners ignited flames, Tiders beckoned waves, and Zelie’s Reaper mother summoned forth souls.

But everything changed the night magic disappeared. Under the orders of a ruthless king, maji were targeted and killed, leaving Zélie without a mother and her people without hope.

Now, Zélie has one chance to bring back magic and strike against the monarchy. With the help of a rogue princess, Zélie must outwit and outrun the crown prince, who is hell-bent on eradicating magic for good.

Danger lurks in Orïsha, where snow leoponaires prowl and vengeful spirits wait in the waters. Yet the greatest danger may be Zélie herself as she struggles to control her powers—and her growing feelings for the enemy.

How I’m celebrating…

When it came to trying to decide what I was going to do for this post, I came a little unstuck. I received the book on the 26th of February and with deadlines looming, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to finish reading the book on time. A lovely friend of mine suggest that I post an aesthetic, something I had never done before. And here it is, here is what I came up with!

I am so excited to dive into this book. I have a feeling that once I get started on this one I will really struggle to put it down! Are you as excited about this book as I am? Let me know in the comments below!

A big thank you to MyKindaBook and Macmillan Children’s Books for sending this my way and asking me to participate in this tour! Keep and eye out for Thursday’s post for my full review and on Saturday I’ll be giving away a finished copy of this wonderful book to TWO lucky winners!

Peace and pages

Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. I had to force myself to take my time and it was so worth it.
