The Book Unhaul Challenge

Hello my lovelies!

Welcome to the Book Unhaul Challenge. This tag was created by the lovely BooksandLala and I’ve decided to give it a go myself! There are ten categories for this challenge, and the technical rules say to choose one book for each category. I don’t have options for all the challenges but to make up for that I have several in other categories! It was an experience going through my bookshelves and weeding out some of the books I may not actually get around to or that I probably won’t read again. Oh, and it absolutely needs to be said that just none of these unhauls are meant to be a personal attack on any book, author, or reader. If one of the books I am getting rid of just happens to be one of your absolute favorite books then I’m sorry, I just really need more room on my bookshelves…

1. A book you rated low

No one belongs here more than you. Stories by Miranda July

Stars Above by Marissa Meyer

2. A book you changed your mind about

Wolf Lake by John Verdon

Five People You Meet by Mitch Albom

Nutshell by Ian McEwan

3. A book you DNF’d (did not finish)

The Ministry of Upmost Happiness – Arundhati Roy

4. A book you own multiple copies of

The Hanging Tree (getting paperback) by Ben Aaronovitch

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

How to Be Human by Ruby Wax

Alice by Christina Henry

Grimms Fairy Tales by Philip Pullman

5. A book you’ll never actually get to

Quentin Blake Treasury by Quentin Blake

The Nightmare Before Christmas by Frank Thompson

The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell

Holding Up The Universe by Jennifer Niven

The Muse by Jessie Burton

6. A book you bought because of the hype

Landline by Rainbow Rowell

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

7. A book you bought because of the cover

Wicked Cometh by Laura Carlin

8. A book you don’t know anything about

How to Breathe Underwater by Julie Orringer

And there we have it! I actually managed to unhaul 20 books! I love doing this now and again as it allows me extra space for new books and I find the whole process very cathartic. Have you done this tag recently? I’d love to see it if you have! You can find some of my other posts here. I would have posted a picture of all the books I’ve donated, but I actually gave them away before taking a picture… rookie mistake!

Peace and pages

  1. I quite liked Holding Up the Universe, but I didn’t like Carry On at all and I’ve not read any of the others! Was so afraid you’d get rid of something I love 😭
