Good morning my loves!
WE MADE IT! We made it to the weekend and I couldn’t be more relieved. After being on call both Saturday and Sunday last weekend, I am very much looking forward to having some me time this weekend. If you’ve been reading the blog for a while or are familiar with my Twitter, you’ll know that I’ve had a buddy-reading group going now for over a year, and I adored the lovely ladies in the group. It’s made me read books that I wouldn’t have necessarily picked for myself, most of which I have loved! So without further ado – here are the most recent books I’ve read with buddies!
My Sister, The Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite
Longlisted and then shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction, this short, sharp shock of a book that I thoroughly enjoyed! I gave this one 4/5 stars.
Neverworld Wake by Marisha Pessl
To be completely honest, this one was a complete cover-buy for me. Thankfully I think the content inside matches the cover on the outside! Groundhog day meets Pretty Little Liars. I rated it 5/5 stars!
Save the Date by Morgan Matson
Honestly, I received this one from the publisher and while I asked for it, I didn’t expect it to be the best book in the world. Having said that, it was a really quick and easy YA contemporary with a bit of romance thrown in. I gave it 3/5 stars.
The Clockmakers Daughter by Kate Morton
Okay, I bought this one because my favourite indie bookstore had a limited edition signed copy and I have a problem. Look me a while to read but it has so many of my favourite things. Historical fiction, multiple timelines and completely well formed characters. I gave it 4/5 stars.

Are We All Lemmings and Snowflakes? by Holly Bourne
As someone that had struggled with her mental health on and off for over half of my life, I am always a little dubious about mental health in books. Holly Bourne however writes it exceptionally. I had the pleasure of reading this with the queen that is Charlotte and I think I enjoyed it even more because of that! Without a doubt a 5/5 stars read.
Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough
This is the May pick for the little buddy-reading group that I have with Luna, Reg and Jenna. Not started it yet but I’m hoping I really enjoy it!
And there we have it! Do you buddy read with friends? Let me know in the comments below!
Peace and pages

Do you have any owned TBR list? I’m sure there’s something on there that I also own that we can read together!

I love buddy reading too, such a fun way to read different books and have good talks. I really have enjoyed a majority of the book we have all read together.

Oh, I love Buddy reading!! I don’t do it often enough though. I recently did though and while the book was … well let’s just say not our cup of tea, it was still fun because we did it together.
I tried buddy reading with my best friend twice now but we never manage to finish at the same time but when we actually sat down and read the book to each other it was amazing (we don’t live close, unfortunately)

That’s the beauty of the internet and the bookish community! My buddy readers and I live on different sides of the world but we connect through this. I love it so much!
