#BookHiBearNation TBR

Good morning my loves!

It’s been a good while since I posted anything that wasn’t a blog tour post or a monthly wrap-up, so today is mucho exciting because I’ve decided to participate in the #BookHiBearNation readathon created and hosted by the lovely Simon Savage (you can find the announcement video here).

Water Shall Refuse Them by Lucie McKnight Hardy // West by Carys Davies // Mouthful of Birds by Samanta Shweblin // Heartstream by Tom Pollock // Summer by Ali Smith // This Is Pleasure by Mary Gaitskill

The Basic Bear Prompts

Sunburnt – a book with a red cover. My pick for this is Heartstream by Tom Pollock
Hot or Cold – some people like it hot in the summer and some people wish it was cold, choose a book set somewhere super hot or super cold. For this prompt, I’ll be reading Water Shall Refuse Them by Lucie McKnight Hardy.
• Summer Sun – choose a book with a summer cover, a sun on the cover, or summer or sun in the title. There could only be one choice for this, and that’s Summer by Ali Smith.
• Holidays – A book set somewhere you have always wanted to go on holiday. For the final full prompt, I’ve chosen West by Carys Davies, which is set, clearly, in the American West. A beautiful place I’ve always fancied going.

The Extra Beary Prompts

– Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda – a book you meant to read in the first half of 2020. For this one, I’ve gone with This Is Pleasure by Mary Gaitskill, one that I’ve wanted to read all year!
– Wildlife – a book with an animal on the cover that makes you think of summer. While looking for books for this readathon, I cam across Mouthful of Birds by Samanta Schweblin and knew that it would be PERFECT for this prompt. Just look at that gorgeous cover!
– Read, read, read – read for 24 or 48 hours in the week.
– Summer social – share a picture on social media of your favorite summer reading spot using #BookHiBearNation

There we go! Simon says in his video that you can combine these in as many ways that you want. I’m looking forward to this readathon so much, as it’ll be the last bit of time off I have before going back to work… Are you planning on joining in? I’d love to see your TBR if you are.

Peace and pages
